Lindenwold high school student brought a gun to school

The Camden County District Attorney’s Office said a 17-year-old Lindenwold High School student was arrested for bringing a gun to school; a second teenager has also been charged.

Camden County Acting District Attorney Jill Mayer said in a press release,

Today [Monday, November 22nd]it was brought to the attention of the Lindenwold Police Department that on 11/19/21 two students from Lindenwold High School took photos with a gun and posted photos on social media of one of the two young people in possession of the firearm. As a result, officers responded to Lindenwold High School, the school was locked down, and the gun was recovered. The gun was found in the possession of one of the two students while on school property.

For the incident on November 19, the two teenagers were charged with possession of a second degree weapon for illegal purposes and illegal possession of a second degree weapon (handgun).

Since Monday’s incident at school, one of them has been charged with illegal possession of a second degree weapon (firearm), illegal possession of a second degree weapon (firearm). fist) and illegal possession of a third degree weapon (firearm in an educational institution).

The two youths were held in Camden County Juvenile Detention Center pending an initial detention hearing before the Juvenile Division of Camden County Superior Court.
