Kochi: Vice President Mr. Venkaiah Naidu visited the Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC) Vikrant under construction at Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) on Sunday.
CSL President and CEO Madhu S Nair gave an in-depth briefing on the capabilities and strengths of the shipyard and its contributions to the development of indigenous technologies and the creation of world-class capabilities.
The Indian Navy gave a detailed presentation of the ship and its capabilities. The Vice President also visited the hangar deck and the ship’s flight deck.
Naidu was accompanied by Governor of Kerala Arif Mohammad Khan, Minister of State Industries P Rajeeve and Rear Admiral Antony George, Chief of Staff of Southern Naval Command.
Naidu returned from Lakshadweep on Sunday morning. He is accompanied by his wife Usha and other family members.

Naidu, who reached Kerala on December 31, flew to Lakshadweep the same day.
He has participated in various programs on the island over the past two days, including the inauguration of two colleges of arts and sciences in Kadmat and Androth Islands.
